History
RevaComm opened its doors in a small office in Kalihi almost 20 years ago as Ito Design Associates. In1994, the company made a strategic decision to become digitally focused and began to develop and provide services and tools to help customers leverage digital technology to improve their businesses. The decision to go digital by focusing on web-based solutions was based upon the assumption that the Internet, although still a very nascent media at the time, was going to revolutionized the world.
From 1995 to 2001, RevaComm grew at an average rate of 20% per year with the rising tide of the Internet and the dot com bubble. The company expanded its staff and services to provide strategic IT, e-business and e-market solutions to mid to large companies and organizations in Hawaii and the Asia/Pacific Region.
Starting in 2001 with the bust of the dot com bubble, RevaComm experienced a downturn that negatively impacted its operations. Although the company had weathered smaller economic cycles before, this was the first major challenge in its eleven-year history. With the help and support of awesome clients, devoted staff, understanding vendors, caring business advisors and mentors, close friends, family and the wisdom from one book, the company went through a restructuring and rebuilding process during 2004 and 2005 and reemerged in 2006 as a smarter, stronger and more flexible company than it was previously.
The knowledge and experience gained from such a challenge was invaluable. It gave RevaComm a deeper understanding of our core strengths and weaknesses so we could begin to rebuild the company to operate effectively, provide the best value to our customers and compete in an increasingly competitive global marketplace. It forced us to clarify our values and structure our planning, decision-making and daily activities around core operating principles and values.
Today, RevaComm has no debt and is in a good position, both financially and operationally, than it has ever been in its 20-year history.
